The voter turnout (the number of registered voters who voted), the % voter turnout and the number of registered voters in South Africa's national elections, from 1999 to 2024. For the 1994 election only the voter turnout and number of votes is available. The Electoral Commission of South Africa is the source for the 1999-2024 results, but it does not have turnout data for 1994 as it was established only in 1997. It is important to note that the 1994 % voter turnout is an estimate. There was no voters' roll in 1994 (anyone with an ID could vote, an estimated 22,709,152 people) so voter turnout is an estimate against the eligible population. 1994 numbers were sourced from SA History Online.
